Your Carnival Royals for 2025

The Carnival Royals for 2025 have been chosen. We are pleased to announce your carnival royals, pictured from left to right, are: Darcie, Maisie, Lara, Poppy & Nancy !

Each year, we ask for children aged 4-11 from the following schools to be our Carnival Royals, and one student from each has been chosen at random.

Bewdley Primary, St. Anne’s C of E Primary, Bayton C of E Primary, Far Forest Lea Memorial C of E Primary & Upper Arley C of E Primary

Don’t forget to give them a “royal wave” on the day as they pass by on the Royal float!

We are pleased to announce that preparations have started once again on Bewdley Carnival for 2025. We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who left us some amazing feedback from their experience of the 2024 Carnival, we really do appreciate you taking the time to let us know what you enjoyed and, most importantly, how would could improve the event going forward.

We held our Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Wednesday 4th September 2024. We had a good turnout, with representitives from the Bewdley Trader’s Group, Riverside Elim Church, Homestart Wyre Forest, the Bewdley Primary School PTFA & Bewdley Bowling Club. Thanks to your support, we have managed to donate a grand total of £2150 to our local comminity! Supporting fantastic local causes is our primary focus and you all have made that happen, thanks to your generosity.

Now, it all starts again. The committee has been chosen, with only a couple of changes this year. We welcome May Carter to the position of Treasurer and congratulate Denise Eaton as she takes on the role of Vice Chair. The team have started planning our fundraising events, which will be announced on here and our Facebook page. Please check back regularly to see what we have planned.

We are pleased to announce that this year’s fireworks display has been fully funded by Light Ideas International Ltd & Hunza Europe. We have pledged £2000 to support Friends of the Maypole!
Friends of the Maypole

The Friends of The Maypole is a newly formed community group working urgently to secure and protect Maypole Piece – a historic and much-loved green space in Wribbenhall, Bewdley – which has just been listed for sale.

This land has been at the heart of the community for generations, providing a sanctuary for local wildlife and a peaceful, natural space for residents to enjoy. So many people have wonderful stories of this space – from the bonfire celebrating the end of WWII, to Major Webb riding his horse to church on a Sunday, to fetes and football matches being held on the top of the hill. As such, we believe it should remain in the hands of the community, not private developers.
